Project Overview
This job in Exeter involved replacing an old, worn timber garage door with a new white Georgian-style 70/30 split side-hinged door, improving both the look and everyday use of the garage.
The Problem
The original garage doors had clearly reached the end of their life. The timber was heavily weathered, with peeling paint and visible wear across the surface.
Not only did this affect the appearance of the property, but the doors were also becoming less reliable to use. Opening and closing wasn’t as smooth as it should be, and overall, the garage was starting to look tired and dated.
The Solution
The existing doors were replaced with a modern Georgian-style side-hinged garage door in a clean white finish.
A 70/30 split design was chosen, which allows the main door to be opened on its own for quick and easy access, without needing to open the full width every time. This is ideal for day-to-day use, especially when accessing tools, bikes or storage.
The Georgian panel design keeps a traditional look, while the new materials offer much better durability and performance.
The Result
The difference is immediately noticeable. The new door has completely refreshed the front of the garage, giving it a much cleaner and more cared-for appearance.
Alongside the visual improvement, the new installation provides:
- Improved security
- Smooth, reliable operation
- Better protection against the weather
- More convenient everyday access
It’s a simple upgrade, but one that makes a real impact.
